For getting the government to pay for your masters through your work, you have two options:
1) Stipendordning
2) vikarordning
Stipendordning
This option involves keeping your normal duties + studying up to 30% on top of this workload. You would then be paid up to 110000 kroner as a scholarship to study.
Vikarordning
This option involves getting release from normal work duties while studying without compromising your normal pay/salary. Employer (school) has a duty to pay for travel costs, short term accommodation and resources.
If you are studying 30% in a 100% position, you are entitled to 37,5% release.
It says that you can have flexibility as to what courses you get to do, so if you see a particular paper that you feel is relevant to you and your school you can try and arrange to do it using either of the options above. There is a deadline for when you should apply to your employer, and this is the first of March. Last year, these courses were available specifically designed for teachers who are studying through their employer.. (some are completely web based. All in Norwegian):
